Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Miguel Gomes, Paul Thomas Anderson, Oliver Hermanus, Takeshi Kitano, Andrey Zvyagintsev, Pen-ek Ratanaruang, and so many, many more...

What's the hardest part of your job? And the best?


Choosing a relatively small number of films from so many wonderful options.
The best part is presenting a film with the director in attendance to a full and enthusiastic cinema.

Many...including Hirokazu Koreeda, Zhangke Jia, Vishal Bhardwaj, Christian Petzold, Claire Denis, Q, Wes Anderson, Todd Haynes...

What's the hardest part of your job? And the best?


To sometimes not being able to invite films and filmmakers even though I love their films -- due clash of release dates or other 'obstacles'.
Best is ...to never be short of films to watch.

When I introduce filmmakers and talents on stage and the positive reaction they receive from the audience at the end of the screenings.
