Enjaaz Short Films
Enjaaz short is the production film funding programme at the heart of the Dubai Film Market. Enjaaz Short provides production financial support to film projects led by Gulf filmmakers.

Emerging and established filmmakers from the region working on independent and commercial fiction and non-fiction shorts, are strongly encouraged to apply to Enjaaz Short.

What’s Enjaaz Short?


The region is experiencing a cinema renaissance, as young filmmakers and experienced directors attempt to launch bold and exciting projects to share with a home-grown and international audience. Enjaaz is keen on supporting these innovators and ensuring their projects are completed and reach a wider viewership.

Enjaaz Short extends production support for short films by Gulf filmmakers. It is designed to encourage film production in the region and is available to emerging and established filmmakers to help them complete their short films and bring them to audiences around the world.

Enjaaz reserves the right to determine the amount of the grant awarded to each project.



Eligibility


Projects Must Meet all of the Following Criteria to be Considered for Enjaaz*:


1. Short fiction film with a maximum of fifty nine (59) minutes or a short non-fiction film with a maximum of fifty one (51) minutes.
2. Directed by a film-maker of Gulf nationality or origin **.
3. Centered on the Arab world, Arab history and/or Arab culture.
4. Have a final script in Arabic or English.
5. Have a detailed budget and production schedule/ timeline.
6. The original work of a sole author or collaboration with other authors.



The Selection Process


The Enjaaz Committee will review the submitted projects seeking production financial support.
Applicants will be informed in writing of the Enjaaz Committee’s decision, approximately eight (8) weeks after the closing date.

* Unless a special waiver is granted by Enjaaz.
** Gulf nationality or origin is defined as directors from one or more of the following countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Yemen.
