Dubai Studio City extends support to DIFF’s 11th edition

Dubai, December 1, 2014 – The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF)’s 11th edition will once again be presented in association with Dubai Studio City (DSC), the region’s leading destination for international media productions. DSC has supported DIFF since the Festival’s inception, working together towards the collective goal of establishing Dubai as a leading film production hub.

Abdulhamid Juma, DIFF Chairman, said: “Dubai Studio City has supported DIFF from the Festival’s early days, helping us grow from strength to strength and continue to offer the best in Arab cinema to audiences every year. We would like to thank them for their commitment to supporting culture and arts in the region, which has helped truly establish Dubai as a hub of Arab cinema.”

Together, the Dubai Film and TV Commission (DFTC) acts as a one-stop shop for filmmakers choosing Dubai as a production location, while Dubai Studio City offers world class infrastructure, facilities and services for leading audio visual media services available in Dubai.

Jamal Al Sharif, Chairman of Dubai Film and TV Commission and Managing Director of Dubai Studio City, said: "DIFF is now one of the top 10 international film festivals, emphasising Dubai’s position as a premier hub for regional and global film production in the Middle East, providing a distinguished platform for regional and international filmmakers to exchange knowledge and creativity. The Festival also supports one of our key objectives to become a home to a strong pool of local talent, by inspiring audiences through fresh new talent and original, thought-provoking and distinctive filmmakers."

This year’s edition of DIFF will take place between December 10 and 17, 2014, and it will offer filmgoers access to a stellar line-up of films, special guests, industry initiatives and events.
