Sell out for La La Land

‘La La Land’ is one of those feel-good movies that’ll have you smiling from ear to ear. Yet, the next minute you’ll be reaching for the tissues. It’s an emotional rollercoaster of ups and downs; striving for your dreams and then wishing you’d never reached for the stars.
The red carpet was rolled out on Saturday afternoon for this sell-out MENA premiere, shown in the glittering Madinat Arena, home to DIFF 2016.
At its essence, it’s a good, old-fashioned, toe-tapping musical with a healthy helping of imagination. Yet, the modern plot and late 21st century struggle to ‘make it’ keep the viewers’ feet firmly on the ground.
Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling make the perfect partnership – and the musical touch by John Legend makes ‘La La Land’ the most memorable composition.
