Volunteer for the 2016 Dubai International Film Festival and be a part of the action for 8 exciting days, December 7 -14, 2016

Dubai, 11 October 2016: The 13th edition of the Dubai International Film Festival is just eight weeks away and volunteer applications are officially open. For eight thrilling days, December 7-14, 2016, the Festival will welcome film fans, industry professionals, acclaimed directors, producers and actors from around the world to celebrate the very best of cinema.

We are now looking for a fabulous team of dedicated volunteers to ensure the upcoming festival is an unforgettable experience for the thousands of attendees from the UAE and beyond. If you’re an enthusiastic film fan, hardworking and enjoy meeting new people then DIFF would love to have you on the team!

Volunteer positions are available in all capacities from administration, box office, ushers, red carpet and events management, to marketing and media activities. From students through to film fans the opportunities are open to all UAE Nationals and residents across the UAE over the age of 18.

Recognized as an exciting working destination, the Festival presents a great opportunity to enhance your skills, provides an unmatched behind-the-scenes experience and offers inside knowledge on how the film industry works. If you are interested in the film industry, the Festival is a wonderful networking opportunity as well as a rewarding cultural event that will provide you with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch how the magic happens first-hand from behind the scenes. In addition, volunteers will have access to enjoy some of the very best cinematic gems from around the world and create memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Mohammed Alhousani, DIFF’s Head of Human Resources & Administration said, “Every year we are blown away by the dedication and enthusiasm of our volunteers. Last year over 600 volunteers devoted over 5,000 hours of their time and we are incredibly grateful for their unwavering support. The contribution of the volunteers helps make the festival happen. We are now looking for new faces and to welcome back returning volunteers who possess excellent communication skills, a friendly manner, an interest in the film industry and, more importantly, volunteers who are keen to get invaluable on-the-job experience that will help them in their chosen career. If you’re interested in working in a busy but rewarding festival environment, we would love to welcome you to the team.”

Samina Yusuf, Volunteer Manager of DIFF said: “Volunteering to work with the fun and dedicated DIFF team is an exciting opportunity for all cinema enthusiasts, providing the opportunity to be part of the action in helping to make the Festival an outstanding event. As DIFF prepares for its upcoming 13th edition, I am thrilled to say that many of our volunteers from previous years are eager to return and I would like to thank everyone who is committed to being part of the team.”

To be part of this year’s festival, interested participants can apply online at and wait for confirmation to attend one of the Volunteer briefing sessions being held in November.
