My Generation
In this colourful, sunny documentary, the legendary Michael Caine takes us back to 1960s London, where a fresh wind of cultural energy was dissolving the staid traditions and class barriers that had hitherto dominated the arts. With interviews with friends and contemporaries – including Paul McCartney, Twiggy, Marianne Faithfull, David Bailey, Roger Daltrey and Mary Quant and others – as well as plenty of archive film from the time and Caine’s personal memories of being a man-about-town, the film is a splendid exploration and evocation of a thrilling era, by the Cockney lad who made good.
