Kor (Ember)
Director Zeki Demirkubuz’s modestly mounted, yet astute and classically made film has in its sights an attack on traditions that still keep women in society without rights. The story focuses on seamstress Emine (Aslıhan Gürbüz), who struggles to look after her son Mete, after her husband left her behind with debts. When her son needs urgent medical treatment, her old flame Ziya (Taner Birsel) offers to help pay bills and soon the pair are lovers. But in true melodramatic fashion her husband returns, and is expectedly angry and drama ensues.
