Io Sto Con La Sposa (On The Bride's Side)
A Palestinian poet and an Italian journalist meet five Palestinians and Syrians in Milan. The refugees have fled Syria and want to reach Sweden. The poet and the journalist decide to help the refugees reach their destination, by creating the pretext of a false wedding, in order to avoid arrest for trafficking. Over four days and 3,000 kilometres, this emotionally charged documentary brings out the refugees’ stories, but also reveals a lesser-known side of Europe: a transnational, supportive and irreverent continent that ridicules the laws and restrictions of the “Fortress”.
