DIFF Celebrates the Spirit of Ramadan with UAE Filmmakers

The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) recently hosted a Ramadan gathering for UAE filmmakers to stimulate increased links among the local film community.

Abdulhamid Juma, Chairman of DIFF said: “DIFF has a vision to nurture the creativity of UAE filmmakers. We invite them to actively participate in the festival as industry delegates, and use the DIFF platform to network with global industry representatives.

“In our strategic aim to motivate UAE filmmakers in their creative endeavour, DIFF has introduced several interactive initiatives and programmes that will also catalyse the growth of the local film industry.”

Applauding the unique perspectives that UAE filmmakers bring to their body of work, Juma urged them to gain a definitive foothold in the international film community with the exposure gained from the festival.

The Dubai International Film Festival 2006 will run from 10 – 17 December.
