As part of its ongoing commitment to stimulate regional film production and trade, DIFF established the Dubai Film Market (DFM) in 2007. The DFM is a unique platform that aims to raise the visibility of Arab cinema at an international level. Since its inception, the DFM has supported over 240 filmmakers; bringing films to the screen which have gone onto enjoy critical acclaim and find new audiences across the globe.
The DFM is now considered the world’s leading industry stage for Arab cinema and a unique platform that contributes to shaping and developing the Emirati film industry. It is the festival’s business and trade hub, and the destination for the sales and acquisitions of Arab films and TV content. The Market comprises of a range of initiatives, services and partnerships that connect Arab and international film industry professionals with the view to facilitating business collaborations.
The DFM serves as the gateway to the Forum, an exciting series of business and industry panels and workshops that take place during the festival. It also houses the Cinetech, a digital screening library of films available for acquisition as well as the exhibitors’ stands which present excellent opportunities to interact with industry leaders, showcase products and network with major players in the region and beyond and Enjaaz the post – production and production financial support offered to selected filmmakers from the Arab world.
The DFM runs concurrently with the Festival from the 11th – 15th of December and is at the heart of DIFF’s industry initiatives.
