Dubai International Film Festival Managing Director Speaks at International Film Festival Summit

Shivani Pandya, Managing Director of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), spoke at the International Film Festival Summit Europe in London, England, on April 18, 2007. The gathering is one of the foremost educational platforms for film festival executives to network and share innovative ideas on funding and sponsorship, distribution, best practices, and resources for festivals of all sizes.

Pandya, who has headed the film festival’s operations since its inception in 2004, spoke at a panel entitled, “Operations Management: Avoid the Pitfalls,” in which she outlined best practices for operations and management, cutting through the myriad solutions and methods for ticketing, box office management, budgeting and volunteer management to make a smoothly run and professional event. 

DIFF Chairman Abdulhamid Juma stated: “Shivani Pandya and her team have delivered stellar results over the last three years, which have seen the festival grow exponentially year on year. We are proud that she can share the knowledge that she has gained through our rapid development, which has seen DIFF become the foremost cultural event in Dubai. ”

The summit saw numerous guests from some of the foremost festivals in the world, such as Venice and Edinburgh, as well as prestigious publications such as Variety, Hollywood Reporter and Factory Magazine.
