RING OF FIRE
Arabian Nights
Synopsis
Beirut, October 1985, and Lebanon has been at war for ten years, University professor Shafic is busy teaching an extract of Albert Camus's La Peste when his faculty building suddenly comes under fire. Forced to take refuge in a small underground room as bombing continues, he finds himself flirting with a student who in the dark, he fails to recognize. This liaison turns his life upside down: suddenly, he's unable to distinguish between dreams, nightmares and reality-a situation that mirrors the disorientation of the war itself.
