Synopsis
The auspicious debut of a totally new technology, Performance Capture, is the co-star of<I> The Polar Express, </I>the delightful new film by Robert Zemeckis (Back To The Future). The technology shares the spotlight with the ever-charming Tom Hanks, here presented in a mind-bending, semi-animated guise. The film, based on a beloved novel, concerns a young Doubting Thomas, disappointed when Santa's reindeer fail to materialize on his roof. But then suddenly the steam engine of <I>The Polar Express, </I>with its magical conductor (Hanks), shows up to whisk him off to the North Pole. Tom Hanks (father of four) fell in love with this story and approached his buddy Zemeckis to make the film. The result is an inspirational treat for the whole family.
