Synopsis

Egyptian director Saad Hendawy is known for his direct and challenging works, and 'Private File' is no exception. Tackling the semi-taboo subject of contemporary male-female relations, Hendawy's frank film shines a light on society's unspoken rules that seek to preserve modesty and decency, while creating schisms and misunderstandings. In 'Private File', Hendawy focuses on the concept of honour, capturing in this important documentary, the many ways in which the morals of the past bear upon the young men and women of today.
