From the director of JUNO (2007), LABOR DAY centres on 13-year-old Henry Wheeler, who struggles to be the man of his house and care for his reclusive mother Adele, all while coping with the troubles of adolescence. On a back-to-school shopping trip, Henry and his mother encounter Frank Chambers, a man who is both intimidating and clearly in need of help. Chambers convinces them to take him into their home. When the man's true identity is revealed, it appears that the events of the long Labor Day weekend will shape the rest of the characters’ lives.
