THE WINDOW

Synopsis

When impecunious writer Bimal pays a chance visit to his old school, he unwittingly unravels his hitherto peaceful existence. Noticing a gaping space where once was an ornate window, Bimal decides to do whatever it takes to get the window fixed. However, soon regrets his generous impulse. Having sold off his wife's gold earrings (unbeknownst to her), borrowed cash, used up his savings - he finally gets the replacement window. Unfortunately, the corrupt school authorities refuse his gift and to add to the misery, his pregnant wife leaves him. Now Bimal is left alone, broke - and with an ornate window.
