Synopsis
Jamal Chkifi, in his fifties, is abandoned by his Romanian wife and two children who can't bear life in a country without a sufficient electricity supply. Finding himself alone and lonely, Jamal decides to taken on the government and files a lawsuit against the Lebanese Electricity Company, responsible for his personal tragedy. POWERLESS examines Lebanon’s electricity crisis through personalised investigations of Jamal and other individuals, whose lives are affected by the power shortage in their country.
