Rashid Masharawi

Rashid Masharawi is one of the first film-makers to produce films from inside the Occupied Territories. He also founded the Cinema Production and Distribution Centre (CPC) in Ramallah to educate young Palestinian film-makers. The CPC also organises an annual Kids Film Festival. Mashrwai’s filmography includes HAIFA (1996), the, first Palestinian film to be screened in Cannes and LAILA’S BIRTHDAY (2008), which won nine international awards.
