‘The Egyptian Revolution Cannot Be Ignored’

‘The importance of the Egyptian revolution cannot be ignored because it is considered as Egypt’s most crucial revolution. We cannot ignore the other revolutions in the entire area, which seek to establish a democratic society and alter the history of the world. Democracy means everyone can express his or her own perspectives, whether a citizen and actor.’

‘Omar Sharif Is A Better Actor Than Me’

My task in cinema is not as essential as Omar Sharif’s is. While I had secondary roles in the French cinema, Mr Sharif had major acting roles in American cinema. Honestly, he is better than me.’

‘Television is more significant in the Arab world than film’

TV series have more significance than films in the Middle East and North Africa due to the lack of film distribution in the region. TV series are spread all around Arab countries, while some films are not even distributed.’

‘I’m not worried about the future of Egyptian cinema'

Young Egyptian filmmakers will improve the future of cinema, because of their vision, activism, and charisma. As a result, I am not worried about Egyptian’s
cinema future, Egyptian cinema is fine.'
