Seventy-five children from around the UAE have won red carpet gala tickets for their families or screening tickets to the Dubai International Film Festival through DIFF’s 2010 painting competition, the Festival announced today.
The seventh edition of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) is showcasing an eclectic line-up of films from Iran, drawing both on the country’s heritage as well as its contemporary realities. The five films from Iran include a world premiere, two Middle East premieres and two films never screened in the Gulf region.
Twelve feature films representing the best of contemporary Arab cinema will be screened during the Dubai International Film Festival this year and compete for one of the most prestigious prizes in the Arab world. The films, which take on issues as diverse as sexual harassment in Egypt to supernatural incidents in Morocco, include seven world premieres, two international premieres and three Gulf premieres, highlighting DIFF’s emergence as a vital launch pad for regional cinema.
The seventh edition of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) 2010 is introducing a brand new genre to its programming with a ‘Midnight Mayhem’ segment that will thrill lovers of horror and spine-tingling films.
